Akacis is located in the administrative territory of the city of Jūrmala, in the nature reserve area of the Ķemeri National Park, by the Vecais road (Vecais ceļš) that leads from Kūdra and reaches the Dūņu road near the Sloka Lake birdwatching tower. The average depth is 0.8 meters, the maximum is 1.1 meters. The distance to Kūdra railway station is 1.8 km, to Sloka – 3 km. The area of the lake mirror is 14.9 hectares. The lake is home to crucians, pike and tench.
Akacis is surrounded by forest, the shores are easily accessible. A path leads through the forest around most of the lake. But at the southern end, where there is a small bay to the west, it breaks. Then you have to go through heathers and big labrador-teas, until on the western side of the lake you can walk again on the forest path. The banks have high marsh vegetation. At the southern end, by the creek, there are extensive groves of labrador-teas and heather and very small, stunted pines. On the western side there is a typical bog vegetation with sphagnum moss and cranberries. The pines are a little bigger there. The southern end of the lake and the bay are also swamped – overgrown with sedge grass, sphagnum moss and cranberries. On the other shores of the lake, the forest vegetation with trees and heather, bog-rosemaries, labrador-teas and bilberries growing in the ground cover, extends all the way to the water.
The scenery of the lake is interesting and it is easily accessible for viewing.
